Capital Market Masterplan 2026 to 2030 Briefing (SC)
The Securities Commission's Capital Market Masterplan 2026 to 2030 sets the direction for Malaysia's capital market for the next five years, inside a twenty-year vision in which the market becomes a key force in national aspirations and economic prosperity. Its motto is Reshape and Recalibrate. The plan is organised around four outcome themes: a vibrant market that drives prosperity, an inclusive market for all Malaysians, a market that supports national sustainability goals, and a market that serves as a gateway to regional opportunities. It adds leadership in the Islamic capital market anchored on Maqasid al-Shariah, and rests on a foundation of regulatory and governance excellence and data-driven supervision. The market it steers grew to RM4.3 trillion in 2025, from RM2.8 trillion in 2015.
Masterplans are easy to read and hard to act on. This one-day briefing is for boards, senior management, strategy, product and compliance teams at fund managers, brokers, investment banks, trustees, platform operators and listed issuers. It turns each theme into the specific opportunities, product changes and supervisory expectations your firm should plan for, and ends with a session to build your own response. It is a strategic briefing, not a compliance requirement: the Masterplan sets direction, and the binding changes arrive through the guidelines that implement it, several of which are covered in our capital market courses.
