AI-Powered Scams & Deepfake Awareness Training
A one-day awareness workshop for employees who receive payment instructions, customer requests or unexpected calls. Participants practise pausing a believable request, checking authority independently and reporting concerns. A convincing voice or video is treated as a claim to verify, rather than proof of identity.
Who should attend: All employees, reception, customer service, finance, HR and managers. No prior cybersecurity qualification is required.
HRD Corp claim support available
Programme Focus
The focus is employee verification when synthetic media makes an instruction believable. The broader fraud course covers additional scam types, while the BEC programme concentrates on payment controls.

Programme Agenda
9:00 AM to 10:00 AM
How AI Changes Impersonation
Explore how synthetic text, images, audio and video can make a request appear credible. Discuss why spelling quality, a familiar face or a familiar voice cannot establish who authorised a transaction.
10:00 AM to 10:15 AM
Break
10:15 AM to 11:30 AM
Recognising Pressure and Unusual Requests
Identify urgency, secrecy, changed contact details and requests to bypass normal approvals. Sort fictional messages by the action being requested and the harm that could follow, rather than guessing whether every image was AI-generated.
11:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Verification That Does Not Depend on Appearance
Practise a callback using a number from an established directory and confirmation through an approved channel. Separate identity, authority and payment approval. Avoid using contact details supplied only in the suspicious message.
12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
Lunch
1:30 PM to 2:45 PM
Calls, Video Meetings and Messaging
Work through an unexpected executive call, a video meeting with a new supplier and an urgent WhatsApp instruction. Agree when to pause the conversation and involve a colleague with the right authority.
2:45 PM to 3:00 PM
Break
3:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Reporting and Limiting Further Exposure
Record relevant details and route concerns to the designated team. Discuss what to do if information or money has already been sent, without promising that every payment can be recovered.
4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Practical Exercise: The Urgent Executive Request
Review a fictional voice message, meeting invitation and payment email. Decide what to verify, draft a safe response and complete a decision log explaining who should approve the next action.
