Python for Data (pandas & Visualization)
The natural entry point into applied data work for people who already live in Excel or Power BI. No prior coding required. Participants learn Python basics, wrangle data with pandas, build charts with matplotlib and seaborn, and finish a mini data project they can show at work.
The course assumes no programming background and teaches only the Python needed to work with data, rather than general software development. Participants start with the language basics, then move into pandas for loading, cleaning, filtering, grouping and joining data, which covers the majority of real analytical work. Visualisation is taught with matplotlib and seaborn, with attention to chart choice rather than only syntax. The session runs in Jupyter notebooks so participants leave with a working environment and their own annotated notebook. It pairs naturally with the SQL course for analysts who need to get data out of a database before they can work with it.

Programme Modules
Python Basics
Variables, data types, loops and functions, just enough Python to be productive, taught in a data context.
Data Wrangling with pandas
DataFrames, filtering, grouping, joins and cleaning. Doing in pandas what you currently do with pivot tables, at scale.
Visualization
Charts with matplotlib and seaborn, choosing the right visual, and formatting for clear business communication.
Mini Data Project
Participants take a raw dataset, clean it, analyse it and produce a short written insight with supporting visuals.
Key Outcomes
- Write basic Python for data tasks
- Wrangle and clean data with pandas
- Build clear charts with matplotlib/seaborn
- Complete a small end-to-end data project
- Decide when Python beats Excel/Power BI
