Programme Agenda

01

9:00 AM to 10:00 AM

Incident, Breach and Business Impact

Distinguish a security alert, a confirmed incident and a possible personal data breach. Describe affected services, records and people using a shared fact sheet, and separate confirmed facts from assumptions.

02

10:00 AM to 10:15 AM

Break

03

10:15 AM to 11:30 AM

Roles and First Escalation

Create a contact and decision-authority map. Practise receiving an employee report, routing it promptly and bringing the right operational and privacy owners into the response without circulating sensitive evidence widely.

04

11:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Containment Decisions and Evidence

Discuss how authorised technical teams propose containment and preserve evidence. Business teams record approvals, dependencies and consequences, instead of changing systems or collecting forensic material without instructions.

05

12:30 PM to 1:30 PM

Lunch

06

1:30 PM to 2:45 PM

Notification Assessment and Communications

Identify the information needed to assess applicable notification duties. Draft internal updates and holding messages, identify the approver and record the basis for a decision. Check current official requirements with the responsible specialists.

07

2:45 PM to 3:00 PM

Break

08

3:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Recovery and Post-Incident Improvement

Agree criteria for restoring a service and validating essential work. Record remaining risks, customer support needs and follow-up actions. Identify improvements to the response plan, ownership and staff training.

09

4:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Practical Exercise: Customer Records May Be Exposed

Respond to successive fictional updates about an account compromise and a possible data disclosure. Produce a timeline, escalation record, communication draft and prioritised recovery-and-improvement log.

  • Distinguish incidents from potential personal data breaches
