Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Awareness for Staff

A half-day programme that introduces staff in reporting institutions to the basics of anti-money laundering and counter financing of terrorism. No prior compliance knowledge is required. It is designed for any employee who deals with customers, handles transactions, or works in a firm subject to AMLA obligations, but who is not responsible for compliance programme management.

This is the all-staff programme in the AML line, pitched for frontline and operational employees at reporting institutions rather than for the compliance function. Coverage includes what money laundering and terrorism financing actually look like in day-to-day transactions, the red flags relevant to the participant's own sector, customer due diligence at the point of onboarding, and the tipping off prohibition, which staff breach most often through ordinary helpfulness. The internal escalation route is rehearsed rather than described, so participants know exactly who to tell and what not to say to the customer.

The programme fulfils the staff awareness obligation under BNM's AML/CFT requirements and helps organisations demonstrate to BNM that all relevant staff have received documented training.
