NotebookLM for Teams
A one-day hands-on programme on a specific kind of AI tool: one that only reasons from the documents you give it, rather than drawing on the open web or its own general training. That constraint is the feature. A notebook built from your own policies, reports and meeting notes answers questions grounded in exactly those sources, which cuts the hallucination risk that comes from a general-purpose chatbot guessing at specifics it was never actually told.
The day is built around building real notebooks for real team needs: an onboarding pack for new hires, a policy question-and-answer notebook, a meeting-prep briefing built from past minutes and reports, and a research synthesis notebook from a stack of source documents. Participants also generate and evaluate an audio overview, which turns a notebook into a briefing a colleague can listen to instead of read, and look honestly at where the tool's grounding becomes a limitation rather than a strength.

Welcome and Programme Overview
Introduction to the session, objectives, and housekeeping.
9:15 AM - 10:15 AM
Source-Grounded Answers and Why That Matters
The tool reasons only from uploaded sources, which reduces hallucination compared with open web AI tools, and what that means for how much you can trust the answers it gives.

10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Building Your First Notebook
Uploading meeting notes, policies, reports or research PDFs, organising sources sensibly, and asking questions that stay inside what was actually provided.
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Audio Overviews for Fast Team Briefings
Generating an audio overview from a notebook, when a listenable briefing beats a written one, and the current limits on tone, accuracy to source and length.
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM
Lunch
1:30 PM - 2:15 PM
Sharing Notebooks Across a Team
Sharing a notebook with colleagues, keeping it updated as source documents change, and access considerations for sensitive source material.
2:15 PM - 3:15 PM
Four Practical Use Cases
An onboarding pack notebook, a policy question-and-answer notebook, a meeting-prep briefing notebook, and a research synthesis notebook, built live from supplied examples.

3:30 PM - 4:15 PM
Knowing the Limits
The tool is only as good as the sources fed in, it is not a live web search tool, and what happens when a question falls outside what the sources actually cover.
4:15 PM - 4:45 PM
Applied Practice
Participants build one notebook relevant to their own team, such as onboarding, policy Q&A, meeting briefing or research synthesis, from supplied or real source documents.
4:45 PM - 5:00 PM
Wrap-Up and Q&A
Key takeaways, next steps, and close.
