GHG & Carbon Accounting Training (ISO 14064)
Learn to build a greenhouse gas inventory from the person who verifies them. This technical two-day programme is led by a certified ISO 14064 Lead Verifier and Validator, and takes you from boundary setting through Scope 1, 2 and 3 quantification to a documented inventory that is ready for independent assurance. Aligned to ISO 14064 and the GHG Protocol.
Most carbon accounting courses teach you the standard. This one also teaches you what the verifier does with it: the evidence they ask for, the boundary decisions they challenge, and the findings that come up again and again.

Modules
GHG Fundamentals & Standards (Day 1)
The greenhouse gases and global warming potential, and how the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064-1 frame corporate carbon accounting. Includes why this matters now for companies facing Scope 1, 2 and 3 disclosure expectations.
Organisational & Operational Boundaries (Day 1)
Setting boundaries, control approaches versus equity share, base year setting, and how consolidation works across subsidiaries and operations. Boundary mistakes are the most expensive kind to correct later, which is why verifiers look here first.
Scope 1: Direct Emissions Quantification (Day 1)
Stationary combustion, mobile combustion, fugitive and process emissions. Activity data, emission factor selection and calculation methods, worked through a full quantification exercise using participant or sample company data.
Scope 2: Purchased Energy Quantification (Day 1)
Location-based versus market-based calculation methods for purchased electricity and energy, with a worked exercise comparing both approaches on the same data set so you can see where the two diverge.
Scope 3: Categories & Screening (Day 2)
Walking all 15 Scope 3 categories, then a materiality screening exercise to identify which categories actually matter for your business instead of attempting all of them.
Scope 3: Estimation Methods (Day 2)
Spend-based, average-data and supplier-specific estimation methods, and when each is defensible. Worked exercise estimating two to three priority categories identified in the screening session.
Building the GHG Inventory (Day 2)
Data collection and management, quality management, uncertainty assessment, and consolidating Scope 1, 2 and 3 into a single organisational inventory.
Documenting the GHG Inventory Report (Day 2)
Structuring a defensible inventory report and producing disclosure-ready documentation aligned to the ISO 14064-1 reporting requirements.
Verification Readiness (Day 2)
What an ISO 14064-3 verification involves, the evidence trails a verifier expects, the findings that come up most often, and a pre-verification readiness checklist you take away. Taught from the verifier's side of the table.
