Leadership Skills for New Managers
A one-day programme for people who were promoted because they were good at the work, and have discovered that the new job is a different job. The most common failure in a first management role is not weak leadership, it is continuing to do the individual contributor work because that is what feels productive, while the team waits for direction that never arrives.
The session covers the shift in what success means, then the mechanics that make it possible: delegating without abdicating, giving feedback that lands, holding a difficult conversation without damage, and establishing credibility with a team that until recently included you as a peer. Practical throughout, with the awkward situations rehearsed rather than described.
