Secure AI Use at Work Training
A one-day practical course for employees using tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot or an internal assistant. Participants learn to check organisational approval, minimise the information they provide and verify results before using them in business decisions. Exercises use invented material and approved demonstration accounts.
Who should attend: Employees, managers, HR, sales, customer service and operations teams using AI assistants. No prior cybersecurity qualification is required.

Programme Focus
The focus is an employee's safe-use decisions during daily work. AI governance and ISO/IEC 42001 programmes address the wider organisational management system and oversight arrangements.

Programme Agenda
9:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Approved Tools, Accounts and Use Cases
Identify who approves an AI service and the intended business task. Check which account, plan and policy apply, instead of assuming a consumer account has the same arrangements as an organisational service.
10:00 AM to 10:15 AM
Break
10:15 AM to 11:30 AM
Deciding What Information Can Be Entered
Practise removing personal identifiers, client details and business secrets from a fictional request. Check whether a task can be completed with a synthetic example or a smaller amount of approved information.
11:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Checking Answers Before Using Them
Review a plausible but unsupported output. Verify important claims against authoritative sources, preserve human approval and consider the consequences of using an incorrect summary, calculation or recommendation.
12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
Lunch
1:30 PM to 2:45 PM
Files, Connectors and Instructions in Content
Discuss why an assistant reading a document or connected service needs appropriate permissions. Recognise that content can contain misleading instructions, and avoid granting extra access simply to complete a task quickly.
2:45 PM to 3:00 PM
Break
3:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Sharing Outputs and Reporting Problems
Check whether generated material contains confidential information or unverified claims before sharing. Identify the owner of retention and access settings, and report accidental disclosure or unexpected actions through the approved route.
4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Practical Exercise: Rewrite a Risky AI Request
Turn a fictional customer-support prompt into an approved, minimal-data request. Review the resulting draft for unsupported statements, identify the human approver and create a team safe-use checklist.
Key Outcomes
- Check approval and account context before using AI
- Minimise sensitive information in prompts and uploads
- Verify outputs and retain human accountability
- Recognise permission and disclosure concerns
