Sustainability Reporting Training (GRI & Bursa Malaysia)

A practical, two-day programme on how to produce a credible sustainability report. Learn the GRI Standards and Bursa Malaysia sustainability reporting requirements step by step - from choosing disclosures and gathering data to drafting, assurance and publication.

The course covers both the GRI Standards and Bursa's own reporting requirements, since Malaysian listed issuers generally have to satisfy the second while many choose to report against the first. Participants work through materiality determination, indicator selection, data collection across functions, and drafting disclosures that are specific enough to be useful and defensible enough to survive assurance. The relationship with the National Sustainability Reporting Framework and IFRS S1 and S2 is covered, since Bursa issuers are now navigating all of these at once.

This is the narrative reporting course: GRI-based impact reporting and the Bursa sustainability statement most Malaysian issuers already produce. The ISSB standards that Malaysia adopted through the National Sustainability Reporting Framework are covered separately in IFRS S1 & S2 Practical Implementation for Bursa-Listed Companies. Listed issuers generally need both.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The course covers the Bursa Malaysia sustainability reporting requirements and the Sustainability Reporting Guide, alongside the GRI Standards.

Only as part of the framework landscape, not clause by clause. The two answer to different audiences: GRI reports impact to a broad stakeholder group, while IFRS S1 and S2 report sustainability-related financial information to investors, which changes what counts as material. Since Malaysia adopted the ISSB standards through the National Sustainability Reporting Framework, listed issuers need both, so we teach them as separate courses rather than compressing them into one. IFRS S1 & S2 Practical Implementation for Bursa-Listed Companies is the two-day implementation workshop.
