Investment Advertising and Finfluencer Review

An investment advertising and finfluencer review checks capital market promotions, including influencer content, against the SC's Guidelines on Advertising before they go live. Since 1 November 2025 the SC treats finfluencers as advertisers and holds firms accountable for the agents who promote them. We review campaigns, posts and influencer content before they go live, so one post does not become an enforcement matter.

Overview

Investment Advertising Review

What it is

A review service for capital market advertising: crowdfunding campaigns, fund and broking promotions, app marketing, and finfluencer content, checked before publication with suggested fixes.

Why organisations need it

The revised SC Guidelines on Advertising, in force since 1 November 2025, bring independent finfluencers within scope and make firms accountable for marketing agents. Crowdfunding issuers, platforms, fund managers and brokers all promote through channels they do not fully control. A pre-launch review is far cheaper than withdrawing a campaign or answering to the SC.

Why Orbix

Why organisations choose Orbix

A governance approach, not a tool sale

We do not resell products, so nothing here is shaped by a vendor margin. The recommendation is whatever your risk and your budget actually justify, including telling you that you do not need the engagement yet.

Recommendations you can actually implement

Findings come with a sequence, an owner and a realistic effort estimate, sized to the team you have rather than the team a framework assumes. A report that cannot be acted on is an expense, not a control.

Consultants who have sat on your side of the table

Our people have carried the obligation internally, not only audited it. That shows up in what we consider proportionate, and in how much documentation we think you genuinely need.

Built for the Malaysian operating context

Work is grounded in Malaysian law and regulator expectation, from the PDPA and the Cyber Security Act 2024 to Bursa, BNM and SC requirements, rather than translated from a European or American template.

HRD Corp expertise where it applies

Where an engagement includes training, the training component is structured to be HRD Corp SBL-Khas claimable, which changes what the programme costs you in practice.

Questions

Questions we get asked

What counts as an advertisement?

Most promotion of a capital market product or service, including social media posts, videos, livestreams and influencer content, not only traditional adverts. Since 1 November 2025 independent finfluencers are within scope. We help you classify borderline cases before publication, when changing them is cheap.

How fast is the review?

Turnaround is agreed with you at the start, including a short turnaround for live campaigns and time-sensitive posts. Most delays come from late submissions, so we agree a simple submission route with your marketing team and agencies.

Can you review influencer content?

Yes, including influencer briefs, scripts and final posts, and whether the paid relationship is disclosed. Because firms are accountable for marketing agents under the revised guidelines, reviewing the brief before content is made is usually more effective than reviewing the post afterwards.

Is this legal advice?

It is a compliance review against the SC Guidelines on Advertising, with suggested fixes. For disputes, enforcement action or questions of legal interpretation, we recommend legal counsel, and we can work alongside your lawyers where a campaign needs both.

Can we buy a monthly package?

Yes. A monthly review allowance suits platforms and active issuers that publish regularly, with an agreed number of items and turnaround each month. It is simpler than approving each review separately, and it builds a record of what was checked.
